The apartment is located in the heart of Ferrara’s historic centre, on Via delle Volte, one of the city’s most charming and evocative medieval streets.
The double bedroom overlooks Via delle Volte directly, a street rich in history, famous for its brick arches and its unique atmosphere, surprisingly quiet and peaceful, especially in the evening and at night.
Via delle Volte dates back to the Middle Ages and was once the main route connecting the city’s merchant warehouses and artisan workshops.
Its characteristic “volte”; the elevated passages linking buildings on opposite sides of the street, allowed goods to be transported even during floods of the Po River, which once flowed very close to this area.
Walking along Via delle Volte means immersing yourself in authentic medieval Ferrara, surrounded by original architecture, exposed brickwork, and a timeless atmosphere. The location is ideal for exploring Ferrara entirely on foot: Castello Estense, the Cathedral, Palazzo dei Diamanti, museums, restaurants, and historic shops are all just a few minutes away. Main distances: - Castello Estense: 10 minutes on foot; - Ferrara Cathedral: 6 minutes on foot; - Palazzo dei Diamanti: 16 minutes on foot. - Trattoria da Noemi: 2 minutes on foot; - Conad Supermarket: 3 minutes on foot; - Caffè Italiano: 3 minutes on foot. From Ferrara train station: Take bus no. 2 and get off at the Piangipane Kennedy stop, then walk for about 5 minutes. Total travel time: approximately 20 minutes. From Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport: Take the shuttle to Bologna Centrale and continue by train to Ferrara. From Ferrara train station, take bus no. 2 and get off at the Piangipane Kennedy stop, then walk for about 5 minutes. Total travel time: approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes. The apartment is located inside the ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone). The property does not have private parking; however, it is possible to park for free or for a fee in Via Baluardi or Piazza Sacrati (NOT guaranteed).
