Woodman’s Cottage is a quaint home tucked away in the charming village of Newmillerdam in West Yorkshire.

Just a stone’s throw from the edge of Newmillerdam Lake, a local favourite for scenic walks, wildlife spotting, and lazy afternoons by the water, this pet-friendly retreat welcomes family and friends.

Inside, the cottage is full of character and comfort.

There’s a super-king-size bedroom (which can be set up as a twin if you prefer), plus a pleasant twin room that’s perfect for kids or extra guests.

The bathroom is a real treat, with underfloor heating, travertine tiles, a walk-in shower, and a separate bath, ideal for a long soak after a day exploring the lake.

The kitchen/diner is one of the highlights.

It’s got a contemporary farmhouse feel, with exposed stone walls, a wooden dining table, and everything you need to cook up a storm.

It’s the perfect place to enjoy a lazy breakfast together before heading out for the day. When it’s time to unwind, the sitting room is a lovely little nook.

It’s simple and inviting, with wooden beams and an electric fire tucked into a stone fireplace, just right for curling up on the plush blue sofa to watch a film on the Smart TV. Outside, spend your mornings out on the patio with a cup of coffee or simply catch some fresh air in the evenings.

And if you’re bringing bikes to explore the area on two wheels, there’s storage too. With permit parking and extra spaces nearby, getting here is easy.

But once you arrive, you might not want to leave, the lakeside location is just that perfect.

Stop by The Boathouse Newmillerdam for a drink with a view, or treat yourself to an ice cream from one of the lakeside vans, a simple pleasure that makes the day even sweeter.

Immerse yourself in the charm of Newmillerdam.

Step outside and join the local community, exploring the quaint shops and the charming local pub, ideal for sampling local ales and traditional Yorkshire fare.

Journey a little further and you'll find Newmillerdam Country Park, a nature reserve with a serene lake, offering idyllic walks, opportunities for bird watching.

Discover West Yorkshire's rich history with trips to national landmarks, marvel at the intricate architecture of nearby stately homes, and immerse yourself in captivating stories at the local museums.

Be Artisanal – indulge in local products from the surrounding farms at the farmers' markets.

Enjoy a round of golf.

The area also offers outstanding cycling routes, with stunning vistas of the remarkably beautiful Yorkshire landscape.

And if you're in the mood for a picturesque day trip, you're in luck - the northern reaches of the Peak District National Park are within easy reach, offering even more stunning landscapes, walking trails, and villages to explore.

Property was lovely. Beds and bedding are beautifully comfortable and great quality. Whole cottage is very homely. Perfect location, right on the beautiful Newmiller Dam. Ideal place for dog walks. Also perfect for us to visit family so we will be hoping to book again.

We had a wonderful time staying at your property also loved the lake and local pubs and restaurants in walking distance. The only slight negative for us was the bedding was not ironed and also Jeremy hit his head on the entrance to the stairs going up to the bedrooms might just need a sign or paddin...

Lovely property in an ideal location. Dog friendly pubs serving good food within walking distance. Great walks around the dam. The cottage’s clean, comfortable and well appointed. Obviously it has been recently renovated to a very high standard. Whilst the property boasts most mod cons, for the sake of convenience, it would benefit from a microwave oven. Already checking dates for next year !!
