Bergamo is a charming city in Lombardy, divided into two parts: the historic and medieval Città Alta and the modern and lively Città Bassa. The Città Alta is home to architectural wonders such as Piazza Vecchia, the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, the Colleoni Chapel and the Venetian Walls, a UNESCO heritage site, as well as breathtaking views that can be reached by funicular. The Città Bassa, on the other hand, represents the modern heart of the city, with the Sentierone, Piazza Matteotti, Porta Nuova and the Donizetti Theatre.
The property is located on the main axis of the Città Bassa, which connects the train station to the city centre, passing through Porta Nuova and leading directly to the most popular places. It is a central, elegant and lively area, with shops, cafés, churches and historic buildings. The Città Alta can be reached in a few minutes, either by public transport or the funicular, or with a pleasant walk.
