## Emplacement
The most important river port in the Paris region, Gennevilliers extends northwest of Paris in a loop of the Seine. Long operated as a quarry during the nineteenth century, the city was gradually built by dividing into eight large neighborhoods without having a real city center. This is where the city’s uniqueness lies. Eight neighbourhoods in eight totally different atmospheres. The Old Gennevilliers also called the Village testifies to the birth of the city with its dwellings grouped around the church. In the north of the city stands the Luth, which testifies to the rise of urbanism in the 1950s/70s. The Cité-Jardin built between 1923 and 1934 is a residential area still very popular today. Then come Le Fossé de l'Aumône and the Chevrins. Then, the neighborhood of Agnettes opens to its neighbor. Les Grésillons and Chandon-Brenu are in full renewal while housing buildings from 1930. Finally, the Petit Gennevilliers points the end of its nose, or rather its pretty villas of the Second Empire.
