Chichester, ten miles north of West Wittering, is the beautiful cathedral city for Sussex and one of the great well-preserved Georgian cities in the UK.

The city centre is neatly enclosed within the ancient city walls making Chichester compact and pleasant to explore on foot.

There are plenty of shops and restaurants, and the Chichester Festival Theatre is worth booking.

The cinema complex to the south of the city also makes for an enjoyable evening out.

Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival Weekend, Fontwell Races, Weald and Downland Open Air Museum and Arundel with its historic castle, cathedral and wildfowl and wetland nature reserve are all close by.
