This stunning converted windmill enjoys a rural setting in the village of Holmeswood near Burscough, providing a unique base for families and friends eager to uncover this part of Lancashire.

With accommodation laid out over 6 floors, Windmill On The Farm represents a stunning example of a Tower Windmill of brick construction with a boat-shaped wooden cap. The building was thought to have been constructed in the 18th century before being sympathetically converted into a residential dwelling during the mid to late 1980s. Entering on the ground floor, you are greeted by traditional flagstone flooring leading to storage for bikes and a utility room with washer/dryer, handy for when adventures take off on a muddier route.

Climb the spiral staircase to the first floor, home to the spacious open-plan living area where you can lounge and chat to the designated chef, keeping them company whilst they get to grips with a range of appliances, or prepare the dining table for a hearty feast.

On this floor, there is also a small balcony where you can enjoy the fresh summer breeze.

Venture to the second floor, where you will discover three chesterfield sofas arranged in front of a curved Smart TV, providing a lovely space to enjoy your favourite shows and movies.

Stairs lead to three further floors with a range of bedroom options, including a super-king-size, two doubles and twin, plus a bathroom and two shower rooms, ensuring you are fully equipped.

Surrounding the property is large lawned area where children can play, or take them on a short drive to the Windmill Animal Farm, where they can feed and pet a number of furry friends, perfect for a family day out! The village of Burscough is just over three and half miles away, offering your closest amenities including a supermarket and convenience store, along with a lovely selection of country pubs and restaurants, including a few nestled along the beautiful canal.

Other attractions in the area include Rufford Old Hall, Cedar Farm Galleries and Formby Point, which boasts a large area of beach, sand dunes and pine woods, which are still home to red squirrel.

The vibrant seaside town of Southport is just 20 minutes away, home to a great range of attractions include the thrilling Southport Pleasureland, while the cities of Liverpool and Manchester are accessible from Burscough Station.

Wow what an amazing property, it has been restored beautifully. Kitchen area and equipment, I wanted to go shopping and cook. Beds very comfortable, creaky floor boards but it's an old building. Lots of stairs as it is on 6 floors but safe and steady. A great friends weekend away.

Absolutely stunning place to stay! Situated next to a farm which was nice. It was so peaceful here, you couldn't hear anything except the animals occasionally. All bedrooms were well equipped and cosy, as was the kitchen and lounge. Two lovely sized showers to choose from, plus a lovely big bath. I thoroughly recommend a holiday here, you won't be disappointed!

We had a wonderful time at the Windmill. Comfortable place to relax and enjoy. The facilities excellent and an excellent building to stay in. The only thing we could say (6 of us), is creaky floorboards and lighting in the TV lounge room not so good for reading, ( ie ceiling lights?), but not detrimental to our stay there and enjoyment. Would recommend the Windmill wholeheartedly.
