Capital of the prune, located on the banks of the Garonne, Agen is a welcoming town on a human scale where life is good. Come and stroll through its historic centre and discover its emblematic places, such as the Place des Laitiers, the heart of Agen's entertainment, the Rue des Cornières and its arcades, the Rue Beauville with its old half-timbered and corbelled houses, the Cathedral of Saint-Caprais and its coloured frescoes from the 19th century, or the Musée des Beaux-Arts, less than 10 minutes away on foot.
Stroll along the Garonne, the Gravier esplanade, with its plane trees, lawns and alleys, is a pleasant place to stroll, much appreciated by the people of Agen. Further north, come and discover the majestic canal-bridge, a 539-metre long structure which allows the Canal Latéral à la Garonne to span the Garonne river.
- Event : The Grand Pruneau Show, on the last weekend of August, honours the famous Agen prune, through a big festival, with prune tasting, gourmet market, shows, concerts...
