Building work has been taking place on Estuary Drive.
This is nearing completion (four out of seven units are fully finished) but as of October 2025 work has temporarily ceased.
We do not know when it will resume (some time in 2026 we believe) but when it does, there will be some activity on the remaining three properties opposite Schooner Court 1 and 2 (external paving to be laid plus internal fitting out to be done).
When the work is completed, the road will be resurfaced.
Neither the owners of Schooner Court 1 and 2 or Northumbria Coast & Country Cottages have any control over the neighbouring works, but at some time during the midweek (work is not permitted at the weekend) there may be some activity.
We will monitor the work and update this information as necessary.

Please note that the building work referred to in the property description has not finished on the three houses opposite Schooner Court. The work has been on hold for a year, but we have now been informed that it is due to recommence during May and will last about 4 months. The work involves internal fitting out and external paving, so there will be some activity in and around the houses. This is completely out of our control, but work is only permitted on weekdays, and not after 4pm, so we hope this does not cause undue inconvenience. Also, at some point the road will be resurfaced.

A great property - our third time staying there. Well cleaned, comfortable and with all you need for making your own meals or heating up bought meals - sharp knives are especially appreciated. The beds are comfortable and the quilts snuggly. It is only a couple of minutes walk onto the beach or up into the town. We will be back again.

Cosy first floor dog friendly appartment. Good kitchen with plenty of kit as we dined in most nights. Lovely comfy beds with good bedding. Spotless bathrooms. Nice layout and balcony to see the Aln estuary. Great location and two minute walk to the beach. I will be looking to book again next year.

Cold have been more coat hangers, and the views described were a bit exaggerated, however the location was great with the advantage of private parking. The cottage was light and airy , a well stocked kitchen and comfy beds and sofas, would definitely stay again.
