Dating back to the late nineteenth century, Old Coastguard Cottages in Amble, Northumberland, directly overlooks a small bay and harbour creating simply sublime views and making it the perfect holiday destination for a family or friends travelling together.
The warm and welcoming living space makes the most of those captivating coastal views with feature windows framing the room and together with a woodburning stove and comfy seating, makes for a really inviting room.
Step into the kitchen which is equipped with everything needed to produce delicious food for the whole holiday party and when it’s time for tea, take a seat at the rustic dining table and indulge in long and relaxed meals together.
To the front of the property there is a charming sloping garden which overlooks the sea and is the ideal spot for getting up close and personal to the ever-changing sea views.
All that sea air will no doubt tire everyone out so at bedtime, choose from a queen-size, a double or a second-floor master bedroom complete with a sumptuous king-size bed. The picturesque coastal village of Amble is on the doorstep where you will find a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. You can book an angling trip from here and just a short distance south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged.
The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.

Old Coastguard Cottages was built in 1896 and is superbly located overlooking a small bay and harbour. With the view changing constantly you can spend many relaxing hours just watching Amble life, including the fishing boats. Well equipped to a high standard, the property is ideal for anyone wishing to spend time taking in the views, watching birds and exploring this beautiful stretch of coastline. Visitors can walk along the dunes and beaches directly from the house.

Living/dining room with large picture windows, sea views, multi-fuel stove, TV/DVD and Hi-Fi.
Kitchen with gas hob and electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer.
Cloakroom with WC, basin, washing machine and tumble dryer.
FIRST FLOOR
Bedroom 1 with ¾ bed (large single) and sea views.
Bedroom 2 with double bed.
Bathroom with bath, shower, WC and basin.
SECOND FLOOR
Bedroom 3 large studio style with king-size bed, basin and CD/radio player.
OTHER FACILITIES
Patio and grassed sloping down to sea with steps. Gas central heating. All power, bed linen and towels included in rent. Private parking. Telephone.

Onsite parking not easy, but off road parking available nearby. This needs mentioning on property details.Overall a great cottage, fantastic views and nearby walks, sand dunes and beaches. Amble a really friendly place, dog friendly pubs and restaurants.

Lovely comfortable property in fabulous location. We love Amble and visit several times but 1st time in this property. Would love to visit again. Plenty of useful equipment in the kitchen. Found beds comfortable. Sink in top bedroom useful. TV small but who cares with that view! Just great!

This was my fourth visit to old Coast Guard cottages. I never tired of looking at the view. The cottage is a real home from home comfortable cozy and clean. Amble is a great base to explore the many castles surrounding countryside and small market towns. I am hoping to come again in January 2027! Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with so many people.
