Penny Plot Cottage is a unique, detached single-storey cottage set within a generous private garden, offering elevated views across Lyme Bay to Golden Cap. Nestled at the top of a quiet private road, it provides a wonderfully tranquil setting and is perfect for couples seeking a peaceful retreat.
Inside, the cottage is compact yet well-equipped. The light-filled living area opens onto the garden through French doors, creating a relaxing space to unwind and enjoy the coastal scenery. A small dining area and a practical kitchen offer everything needed for a comfortable stay. The bedroom and bathroom are neatly presented, with the bathroom featuring a bath with overhead shower.
Guests are welcomed with a thoughtful arrival pack including milk, tea, and a selection of locally sourced treats. The garden is a standout feature - ideal for soaking up the views, spotting local wildlife, or simply relaxing in the peaceful surroundings.
Despite its secluded feel, the cottage is just a short downhill walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants of Lyme Regis, making it easy to enjoy the town’s charm while returning to a quiet haven at the end of the day.
Lyme Regis itself offers plenty to explore. Meander through a fascinating maze of streets filled with independent shops, boutiques, galleries, cafés, tearooms, and restaurants. Visit the historic Cobb harbour, relax on the sandy beach, or take in a show at the Marine Theatre. The town also features a museum rich in local history and geology - perfect for those interested in the Jurassic Coast’s heritage.
For those keen to venture further afield, the South West Coast Path offers spectacular walks with panoramic views of the Jurassic Coast. The nearby village of Charmouth is renowned for its fossil hunting and the excellent Heritage Coast Centre. The picturesque fishing village of Beer is also well worth a visit, with its pretty streets, sheltered shingle beach, and traditional charm. Cottage was well located for local area. Quiet area away from main road. Bathroom would benefit from an update. Kitchen and bathroom were compact but functional. Place was clean and warm even with old single glazed windows in parts of the property. Bus stop nearby. Plenty to do locally in Lyme Regis. Vicious hills walking back from sea front. Over all the stay was comfortable and relaxing.

Lovely peaceful location. Nice enclosed garden and rough area for wildlife & dogs. The property is "rustic" and wouldn't suit those looking for luxury kitchens etc, but everything worked well and the beds were very comfortable. There is a smell of drains in the bathroom, but that's not unusual in older properties and nothing appeared to be leaking...

The apartment was very musty as though it had not been used for a very long time. Furniture in front room very old and musty and not as the pictures on the website. Take some towels as although it says they are provided only hand and face towels and only 1 of each per person. Not very dog friendly a...
