A beautiful end-terrace cottage resting within the traditional Pennine town of Holmfirth in the Holme Valley, 1 Oakleys makes an astounding holiday base for couples or groups of four seeking a rural escape to West Yorkshire.
Boasting an eclectic mix of traditional character and contemporary charm, this modest yet magnificent holiday cottage is a true delight you'll be sure to want to return to. Park up at the roadside before taking the nine steps down to be greeted by the stylish kitchen/diner; take a seat at the impressive oak top breakfast bar and toast to a terrific holiday, before preparing a snack with the good host of appliances and utensils at hand; you'll even find the microwave built into the wall, giving the property that extra special charismatic touch.
Move through to the sitting room and light up the woodburning stove in the winter months for the ultimate relaxing experience, as you tune into Netflix on the Smart TV for a film night.
Follow the staircase up to the first floor where you will find two equally enchanting double bedrooms, both boasting a contemporary interior and served by the sparkling shower room, they both offer the perfect spots to rest ahead of your next day's adventure.
Spend your mornings out in your own enclosed patio garden, with far-reaching views over the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, here you can enjoy a rejuvenating coffee amongst stunning scenery, or even dine alfresco with the assistance of the barbecue.
Take your bike out from the shed and head out to explore the wonders of the surrounding area; with the Pennine Way just two miles away, the cottage is perfectly situated for walkers and cyclists alike.
The renowned Compo's fish and chip restaurant is just a two minute walk away.
At the centre of Holmfirth you can find a wider selection of shops and eateries to choose from.
Spend an entertaining evening at the Picturedrome, the North of England’s finest live music venue where you can watch a variety of acts perform, with a public swimming pool and fitness centre being here too! Be sure to check out the spots of the town made famous by The Last of The Summer Wine TV series, before following the routes of the Tour de France 2014 and the Tour de Yorkshire for the ultimate cycling experience.
Venture into the Peak District National Park to be met by even more walking and cycling opportunities, with moors, forests, lakes and more to explore, while the Upper Derwent Valley, home to the spectacular Ladybower and Derwent reservoirs offer the perfect romantic picnic spot.
Visit the world-famous Blue John Cavern in nearby villiage of Castleton and enjoy a traditional pudding in the market town of Bakewell, or travel further afield to discover the glory of Manchester, Sheffield and Huddersfield.
No matter how you choose to spend your holiday, make 1 Oakleys your beautiful holiday base to remember.

This is our second time and it was just as perfect, Cathy left us an amazing goodie box again. It was perfectly clean and has everything you need to a good stay. It's in a perfect spot for everything and a beautiful garden to sit in on the evenings. We would certainly stay again and would recommend it to all.

Beautiful little cottage with very tasteful decor and very well maintained by the owners. Stunning garden space to sit enjoy after a day out walking/exploring. Location great, safe, quiet residential area 10-15 mins walk to main town amenities. Only minor negative is lack of storage space if staying longer than a weekend. Thank you to owners for kind welcome gift of wine & chocs.
