In traditional black and white Tudor style, 2 Ashby Place is a beautiful semi-detached cottage, well in keeping with its location within walking distance of the centre of the historic city of Chester and local rail and bus stations.
Offering character accommodation for up to four people, it is perfect for a romantic couple's city retreat, or a getaway with family or friends to taste the delights of Cheshire and the Welsh borders.
Arriving at this hidden gem down a quiet cobbled cul-de-sac, step past the front garden into the hallway, and hang up your coats before exploring your lovely surroundings.
Take a seat in the sitting room, with the woodburning stove offering a homely feel when it’s cold outside or open the French doors out to the private courtyard in the warmer spring and summer days.
Move through into the kitchen - here you will find a more contemporary feel, with sleek white and wooden units housing the essential appliances to prepare a home-cooked meal.
For supper, enjoy the comfortable separate dining room or why not explore the many delicious eateries of Hoole and the city centre? On the first floor you will find a double and twin room, each possessing their own elegance, ample storage space for your personal belongings and attractive views of the surrounding trees and gardens. There is an impressive bathroom, home to both a roll top bath and a separate shower. The stable door at the rear of the property leads out to your own enclosed and private courtyard, with table and seating.
Meanwhile your canine companions can stretch their legs in the gated front garden in anticipation of a fun-filled day ahead - dog walking is available close by on the dis-used railway path and in nearby parks. Located just on the edge of the city centre, the property is perfectly positioned for a broad range of past times.
Just a short stroll away you can find pubs and restaurants of all kinds, alongside a wide range of local shops.
Amble the mile to the centre itself, absorbing its unique historic beauty from the Roman walls themselves, or enjoy a River Dee cruise. Indulge in an afternoon of shopping along Chester’s unique Tudor rows, or head further afield. Attractions include Chester Zoo, the Blue Planet Aquarium, the Storyhouse Theatre, Chester Racecourse, the Cheshire Oaks designer outlet, and a nearby sports centre and public swimming pools, which provide entertainment for all ages at every time of year. In easy reach of Liverpool, Manchester and the idyllic beaches and hills of North Wales, 2 Ashby Place is a wonderful base for your exploration of this beautiful region.

The house was in the ideal location to explore Chester for a few days. A nice easy walk in and out of the city centre and in a lovely green and quiet setting. Plenty of smaller food shops and coffee shops / pubs etc very close too. The house was clean and warm.

Had a great stay at 2 Ashby Place. The cottage was exactly as described and was in a quiet street, but only minutes walk to all that we needed. Safe and secure front and back gardens for our dog which was a massive plus. Would definitely recommend.

We had a delightful week in the characterful Ashby Place. The cottage is warm, comfortable and full of history and character, and not to mention brilliantly central. You can walk into town within 10minutes and it’s only a hop and a skip to the central train station. Dedicated parking made things ver...
