The area takes its name from the street that branches off from Via Maestranza and that delimits, with Via Alagona, towards the sea, the district that once housed the large Jewish community of Syracuse.

In the basement of "Alla Giudecca" hotel, however, it is possible to explore, with guided tours, an ancient miqweh, a system of tanks fed by running water, once connected to the now-disappeared synagogue, where ritual baths were performed.

In Via della Giudecca, it is possibile to find the Teatro dei Pupi, where performances of Sicilian folk tales are held; and a little further on, in Piazza S.

Giuseppe, the Aretuseo dei Pupi Museum is dedicated to this street theater tradition.

In Via Alagona, in the eighteenth century Palazzo Corpaci, once the seat of the Confraternity of the Holy Spirit, there is the Cinema Museum.

Today Giudecca district, especially in the evening, is very lively with locals. Alternatively, from the airport it is possible to reach the apartment by taking Interbus bus, up to Syracuse Station. - FROM SYRACUSE STATION: it is possible to reach the apartment on foot in about 25 minutes or by taking the minibus. - IF YOU ARE TRAVELING BY CAR: The nearest parking lot is 750m away from the apartment and it’s called “Talete”.
