This converted 1957 railway carriage in a quiet setting, is close to Castle Douglas, Kirkcudbright and Gatehouse of Fleet.. Ground Floor:

Outside, a large lawned garden provides plenty of space to relax and play, complete with garden furniture, and a BBQ, perfect for warm summer evenings under the open sky. This one-of-a-kind retreat offers a memorable stay in a truly special setting in Bridge of Dee, near the vibrant market town of Castle Douglas, and is perfectly situated for exploring the stunning landscapes and rich heritage of southwest Scotland.
Just a short drive away, Castle Douglas offers a variety of independent shops and cafes, while the nearby towns of Kirkcudbright, known for its artistic community, and Gatehouse of Fleet, with its charming streets and historic sites, provide plenty of cultural interest. Outdoor enthusiasts will find endless opportunities, from scenic coastal walks along the breathtaking Solway Coast, with its sandy beaches, rocky coves, and traditional fishing villages nestled around picturesque harbours, to marked forest trails ideal for walking or cycling.

Garden area was well maintained and excellent for our dogs to play in.
Wifi didn’t work. Wasn’t a big enough issue for us to go speak to the owner who had said to give him a shout if we needed anything. Minor thing that didn’t really affect our stay.

We enjoyed our three night stay. It was extremely quiet which was great. Plenty of walks for the dogs all around the immediate area and far afield.Very relaxing break but if you wanted to do more then its there...

We had a lovely stay at the Carriage, it's in a secluded location with lots of quiet walks on your doorstep. The hoist met us on arrival and gave us a tour of the carriage as well as pointing out where to go and what to do, made to feel completely at home ! Accommodation is dog friendly and there is...
