Cobbled setts line the high street on which the very popular 4-days-a-week market is held. Excellent towpath walks are easily accessible where brightly coloured narrow boats cruise along. Known as "The Gateway to The Dales", Skipton provides a perfect location from which to explore the National Park. The picturesque village of Embsay (2 miles) is nearby, and offers its very own steam railway, frequently visited by Thomas the Tank Engine. The historic market town of Settle (17 miles) is within easy driving distance and provides visitors with a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. Shop 100 yards, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
