Mirca is a small town on the north side of the island, characterized by the rustic atmosphere of a small Mediterranean town. Mirca originated in the 16th century, when residents began to inhabit the quiet Gumonca bay, which today, with its beach and fishing harbor, makes it the center of life for the town. The Church of the Annunciation of Mary is the cultural heritage of this place. The church constitutes of an altar, altarpieces, statues and a particularly valuable Pieta, a painting by Felix Tironi, an amateur supetarist painter. Olive growing as an important part of traditional life on the island of Brac, substantiated by the olive trails, the hiking trails that run through the old olive groves. An old oil mill still is still in function today, and inside of it is the Museum of Olive and Oil Production. In the museum visitors can see old-fashioned machines that used to handpressing ripe fruits and a guide of processing technology. It offers a variety of forms of entertainment every day - from concerts, shows and movie screenings to club programs. Spent a week here with a group of friends and it couldn’t have been better. The place has that effortless charm — super clean, spacious, and just made for lounging around and enjoying life. Whether we were grilling outside, watching the sunset, or just hanging by the pool, everything felt easy and relaxed. Great setup for a group. Loved every minute of it.
