This cosy holiday house with a balcony terrace is right by the edge of the forest of the Hohes Venn nature reserve, between the German-Belgian border and the Eifel national park. The duplex house is about a kilometre outside of a little village.

You step out through the outside door onto the extensive balcony terrace with four garden chairs and a garden table, so you can dine outdoors. From here you can enjoy a sweeping view of the fabulous nature as far as neighbouring Belgium. You can park your car on the parking area in front of the house.

The holiday house newly renovated in 2008 comprises 80m² of living space, with a three-bed room, a living and dining room, a separate kitchen and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. The bedroom has a double bed with two single mattresses and bedside tables on either side. Next to the right bedside table there is a single bed for a third guest. There are two reading lamps mounted to the wall. The modest Africa decoration with wooden giraffes and wall pictures of these animals and zebras, along with the natural, solid wood furniture in the room painted in light colours, exude a cosy atmosphere. The living room has a comfortable lounge oasis with two leather sofas, a coffee table and a leather armchair, for relaxing after a day trip. Right in front of it there is an open quarry stone fireplace, exuding pleasant warmth on cold days. The necessary firewood can be purchased from the owners. Apart from the fireplace, there is a TV with satellite channels for entertainment in the evening. Behind the suite there is a dining table with six chairs by the window, so whilst dining you can look out over the balcony terrace, the meadows in front of the house and the natural surroundings. The separate kitchen enables comprehensive self-catering with an electric stove, an oven, a fridge with a freezer compartment and small electrical appliances such as a microwave, a coffee machine, a kettle and a toaster. The daylight bathroom has a walk-in shower, a WC, a washbasin, a towel radiator and a hairdryer. Wireless Internet access is available at the owner’s guesthouse 300 metres away.

The village of Kalterherberg is a kilometre away, with a restaurant and a little grocery shop with basic items. It is 8km to the historical little town of Monschau with old buildings, timber-framed houses and a castle. You can also walk there in about 1.5 hours. There are many hiking trails and cycle routes in the area for nature lovers.

A special feature of this holiday accommodation is that dogs and horses are welcome. If you would like to bring your own horses, then you can watch them from the balcony and out on the meadows. Your horse will feel at home on the fenced meadows and in the horse boxes or paddocks. The property is a member of the Eifel zu Pferd association.
